1 – Real Madrid
The Euroleague Basketball SuperCup had that effect. Two real games against two tough teams and Real Madrid answered the call. Los Blancos are looking good.
2 – Panathinaikos AKTOR Athens
Why have the Greens dropped from the top spot? In part due to Real Madrid’s SuperCup win. And in part due to concerns about injuries to stars Kendrick Nunn, Nigel Hayes-Davis and Kostas Sloukas. But second place right now is pretty nice!
3 - Olympiacos Piraeus
No team had a quieter offseason than the champs. The Reds should be right on track to challenge for a Final Four spot and attempt to try to defend their title.

The recent signing of reigning champ Thomas Walkup is a huge boost for Dubai, which already crushed in the offseason by adding some dangerous weapons and coach Xavi Pascual. Dubai enters the season as a contender.
6 – Anadolu Efes Istanbul
Coach Pablo Laso’s side turned heads with three impressive wins in as many days in the VTB United League SuperCup in Moscow. The buzz around this team is growing quickly.
7 – Hapoel IBI Tel Aviv
Hapoel slips a little after a poor showing against Maccabi in the Israeli Super Cup final. But coach Dimitris Itoudis did not have his full roster available and there is no reason to think that will linger when the curtain rises on the season on Thursday.
8 – Zalgiris Kaunas
Coach Tomas Masiulis impressed many in his first season on the sidelines and now he has Jonas Valanciunas to anchor the team inside. Let’s see what this team can do!
